Google is set to launch its new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones in the coming week. Ahead of the official launch, camera specifications and features for these devices have been revealed by Kamila (@Za_Raczke) on X.com (formerly Twitter).
Pixel 8 Camera Features Revealed
Leaked details uncover exciting camera enhancements in the upcoming Pixel 8 series, following the release of Google Camera 9.0 for Android 14 beta users.
Key features include:
1. Facial Expression Alteration: Google’s AI technology can modify facial expressions in photos by recognizing individuals and applying predefined expressions stored on the device.
2. Object Eraser: The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro showcase the object eraser feature, demonstrating its capabilities.
3. Video Enhancements: Exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro, video boost promises smoother playback, along with full-resolution capture up to 50MP and the introduction of Night Sight technology to videos. The Pixel 8 Pro also introduces an auto-focus selfie camera module.
4. DSLR-Level Controls: Users gain access to DSLR-level video controls, briefly displayed on-screen, including shutter speed, ISO, and focus adjustments.
5. Audio Magic Eraser: Equipped with the Audio Magic Eraser, these devices intelligently detect and eliminate ambient noise from videos, ensuring clear audio quality.
However, it remains uncertain whether these camera features will be made available for older Pixel models.

The leak also confirms the camera specifications for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro:
Pixel 8
- 50 MP wide-angle lens (f/1.68 aperture, 82° FoV, 1/1.31-inch sensor, 8x Super Res zoom)
- 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.2 aperture, 125° FoV)
- 10.5 MP selfie camera
Pixel 8 Pro
- 50 MP wide-angle lens (f/1.68 aperture, 82° FoV, 1/1.31-inch sensor, 8x Super Res zoom)
- 48 MP module (f/1.95, 125° FoV)
- 48 MP telephoto lens (f/2.8, 21° FoV, 5x optical zoom, and 30x digital zoom)
It’s worth noting that the Pixel 8 Pro’s ultra-wide-angle lens contradicts an earlier leak, which suggested a 64 MP sensor. Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro will feature an IR thermometer as per a previous leak. Both the devices are set to feature Google’s Tensor G3 SoC.

The leak also confirms the pricing for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro:
- Pixel 8 (8GB RAM): MSRP USD 699 (Rs. 58,055 approx.).
- Pixel 8 Pro (12GB RAM): MSRP USD 899 (Rs. 74,665 approx.).
